BC Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres

In Canada, one in three children will experience some type of abuse by the time they are fifteen years old. Unresolved childhood trauma has a profound lifelong impact on children, families, and communities. With early identification and service adapted to their unique needs, children have remarkable capacity to heal from the abuse they experienced.

The BC Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres represents children and youth who have experienced abuse in British Columbia. We bring together child and youth advocacy centres across the province to advocate with one voice for improvements to the way the systems respond to abuse and to ensure coordinated and comprehensive services are readily available and accessible to the children and families who need them.

We all have a role to play in keeping children in our province safe. The advocacy work of the BC Network of CYACs helps us all keep our eyes and ears on vulnerable children to provide them with the best opportunity to lead healthy, fulfilling, and violence-free lives.
