BC Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres launches the network at the CYAC Provincial roundtable. 100 professionals from across the operational and in-development CYACs in BC along with government and sector officials attended a two-day roundtable conference to begin the process of envisioning a network of CYACs in BC. Main topics were:

  • how to ensure CYACs are culturally responsive
  • what does socially inclusivity look like at a CYAC
  • what do frontline practitioners need to respond to child abuse in this way and how can we take care of the wellness of those professionals
  • the link between physical and mental health and childhood trauma and how to CYACs include medical services are part of their wrap-around supports
