Updates to BC’s Intimate Images Protection Act
The Attorney General of BC has announced updates to the Intimate Images Protection Act:
- Victims of intimate-image abuse are now eligible for as much as $75,000 in damages, 14 times higher than the previous $5,000 limit
- The Intimate Images Protection Act helps people get their intimate images taken down fast, stops further sharing and gets them access to the justice they need
- Since coming into force, the Intimate Images Protection Act has resolved almost 400 disputes
