BCCYAC Annual Report on CYAC Services 2025-26

2025-2026 was a year of immense development for BC’s Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres. CYACs across the province continue to expand and adapt to meet the complex needs of children and families. This year saw enhanced multidisciplinary collaboration, expanded regional access to services, growth in counselling and specialized programming, strengthened Indigenous partnerships, and continued innovation to improve trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.

Despite this progress, CYACs face ongoing challenges that include staffing turnover, rising costs, and a lack of stable, sustainable funding that places key roles and services at risk. Continued investment and policy support are critical to ensure the long-term stability of this essential model.

This fifth annual report provides an overview of CYAC data, highlights system growth and challenges, and reflects the evolving landscape of partnership and service delivery across British Columbia.
